Boquerón State Forest is a mangrove forest designated as a forest reserve in 1918, spread across three sections along Puerto Rico's southwest coast in the municipalities of Cabo Rojo, Lajas, and Mayagüez. The forest includes limestone cliffs, historic salt flats dating to 700 C.E., coral reefs, and seagrass meadows, and serves as habitat for the West Indian manatee and other threatened species. It offers nature trails, bird watching, and beach access.
