Bosque del Pueblo State Forest

Adjuntas

Bosque del Pueblo is a 738-acre forest in Adjuntas that emerged from a 15-year community struggle to prevent copper quarry mining in the Cordillera Central. The forest sits between the Pellejas and Viví rivers at elevations of 500–600 meters and is an important breeding site for the migratory black-whiskered vireo. Visits must be coordinated in advance and camping is available at affordable rates.
