Las Cabezas de San Juan Nature Reserve
Fajardo
Las Cabezas de San Juan Nature Reserve is a 316-acre reserve at the northeastern tip of Puerto Rico in Las Croabas, Fajardo, managed by Para la Naturaleza (Conservation Trust of Puerto Rico). It harbors seven ecosystems —mangroves, dry forest, coral reefs, lagoons, sandy and rocky beaches, and the bioluminescent Laguna Grande, one of Puerto Rico's three year-round bioluminescent bays. The Cabezas de San Juan Lighthouse, inaugurated in 1882 and the island's oldest, operates today as a museum; all visits are guided and require advance reservations.
