Carite State Forest is a sierra palm forest extending over 6,500 acres in the Sierra de Cayey in southeastern Puerto Rico, established in 1935 to protect the region's watersheds. It contains Cerro La Santa at 902 meters elevation, 49 bird species (9 endemic), and is habitat for the endangered Puerto Rican parrot. It offers hiking, bird watching, and natural swimming pools such as Charco Azul.
