Cerrillos Reservoir Atracadero Recreational Area
Ponce
El Atracadero is one of five recreational areas within the Lake Cerrillos complex in the Maragüez ward of Ponce, alongside Campo de Recreo, Bella Mirada, El Mirador, and Alto Balcón. It serves as the main access point to the reservoir for water activities, with a boat launch ramp and dock. Lake Cerrillos is an artificial reservoir completed in 1992 by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, fed by the San Patricio, Río Blanco, and Río Prieto rivers, and used for flood control, water supply, and recreation. The area offers fishing (from shore, float-tube, or motorboats up to 30 horsepower) for tilapia, chopa, catfish, and largemouth bass (10-fish limit, 12-inch minimum per angler), as well as kayaking and paddleboarding. It has 13 small first-come gazebos and 2 large reservable gazebos. Alcohol, loud music, campfires, swimming, and hammocks are not permitted.
