Guilarte State Forest spans approximately 3,900 acres across the municipalities of Adjuntas, Guayanilla, Peñuelas, and Yauco, and contains Pico Guilarte at 1,204 meters (3,950 feet), Puerto Rico's seventh highest peak. The forest has 227 tree species (4 endangered) and a rich avifauna in a high-elevation cloud forest setting. It offers hiking to the summit, bird watching, and rustic cabins for overnight stays.
