Nature Reserve
Medio Mundo and Daguao Protected Natural Area
Ceiba
The Medio Mundo and Daguao Protected Natural Area is a coastal nature reserve extending along the shoreline between the municipalities of Ceiba and Fajardo. Approximately 95% of its forest cover is classified as mangrove, and the area is traversed by three rivers: the Daguao, Demajagua, and Fajardo Rivers. The ecosystem provides habitat for birds, manatees, and sea turtles, and is managed under the Puerto Rico Coastal Zone Management Program. Para La Naturaleza operates the area as part of its network of nature centers.
