Monte Choca State Forest is a 244-acre tropical wet forest in Corozal, originally a private farm that the community successfully preserved from urban subdivision. It contains several kilometers of trails, a small museum, rivers, and an interior lagoon within secondary forest vegetation. Visits must be arranged in advance and it offers photography, hiking, and scientific research opportunities.
