Cerro Gordo National Beach Park

Balneario Cerro Gordo is a government-run beach park on the northern coast of Vega Alta. Beyond its well-known crescent-shaped beach, the park contains about four miles of walking and mountain biking trails through a coastal palm forest on the park's eastern section. The trails offer sweeping ocean views from the rocky headland bluffs and follow the shoreline with panoramic perspectives of the north coast.

The site also holds significant historical and archaeological value: the top of Cerro Gordo Point contains evidence of a sub-Taíno settlement dating to 600–1000 A.D., and during World War II the area was occupied by the U.S. Department of War to monitor German submarine activity.
