Loíza

Piñones State Forest is Puerto Rico's largest mangrove forest with 1,560 acres located in Loíza between Carolina and Loíza, characterized by deserted beaches, sand dunes, coral reefs, and two coastal lagoons. It is home to 46 bird species and the rare tree Schoepfia arenaria, of which fewer than 200 specimens remain worldwide. It offers 11 kilometers of wooden boardwalk for walking and biking, with bicycle and kayak rentals available.
