Punta Cucharas Nature Reserve

Punta Cucharas Nature Reserve is a protected area established in 2008 through Law 227 of the Puerto Rico Legislature, located in Barrio Canas, Ponce. It covers approximately 4,214 cuerdas of land and marine habitat encompassing mangrove ecosystems, coastal sand dunes, the Laguna Las Salinas saline lagoon, and open water. The reserve supports 148 plant species and 56 bird species, and permits activities including hiking, bird watching, canoeing, scuba diving, fishing, and nature photography.
