A Scout leads an environmental initiative on coastal erosion at Isabela beaches
Julián González, a 17-year-old Scout from Isabela, completed his Eagle Scout Service Project by installing educational signage about coastal erosion at Las Golondrinas, Middles, and Paseo Tablado beaches.
Each sign presents data on erosion, human impact on the coastline, and mitigation efforts, along with a QR code directing visitors to additional resources. The project was supported by Uno con el Ambiente, FirstBank's corporate social responsibility program, and the Rescate Costero (Coastal Rescue) campaign, which aims to plant 25,000 native trees along Puerto Rico's beaches.
