The walk includes a three‑quarter‑mile elevated boardwalk that crosses the Pterocarpus Forest, one of the few remaining freshwater swamp forests in Puerto Rico. Along the route, 18 educational stops and numerous interpretive signs explain its flora, fauna, fungi, and the characteristics of this unique ecosystem. Admission is free.
