Description

Vereda Cascada Las Delicias is a short access route in Tres Picachos State Forest, in Ciales, leading to the Río Cialitos off PR-533. There is no designated parking area, so visitors leave their vehicle alongside the road; from there it's just a few minutes on foot, crossing stones and large boulders that require good balance. The site consists of several closely spaced cascades falling over a moss-covered rock wall, with shallow natural pools — the largest about three feet deep — of cold, clear water. There are no facilities or trash cans, so all waste must be packed out. Safety tips: do not jump from the waterfall or the surrounding rocks, since the water depth is insufficient and can cause serious injury; avoid the area after recent rain or if flash flooding is possible, as river levels and current can rise quickly; wear footwear with good traction or water shoes for crossing the wet rocks; and ease into the water with caution, as it can be colder than expected.
